Mike Braun and supporters with signs

Mike Braun is a conservative outsider who spent his career as a main street entrepreneur building a business and creating thousands of good-paying Hoosier jobs before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018. Mike has lived the American dream and his drive in becoming the next Governor of Indiana is to preserve the same freedom and opportunity to achieve prosperity for future generations of Hoosiers.

After graduating from Jasper High School in 1972 as class president and a letterman in football, basketball, and track, he attended Wabash College. At Wabash, Mike graduated summa cum laude with a degree in economics and as student body president.

After college, Mike married Maureen, his high school sweetheart, and the two moved to Boston where he attended Harvard Business School and earned his MBA. After business school, while the majority of Mike’s classmates took high-paying jobs on Wall Street, he chose to move back to Jasper to raise a family and build a career.

After a few years working for a national kitchen cabinet company in Jasper, in 1981, Mike got the entrepreneurial itch and took over a struggling farm equipment manufacturer called Meyer Body. Over the next 20 years, Mike lived the hardscrabble existence of a small business owner with 15 employees and his office in a used mobile home.

In the early 2000s, Meyer began to grow into a regional company and over the next 15 years grew into a national company that currently employs thousands of Americans with locations in 38 states. During his time growing a national company and serving in the US Senate, Mike never lost track of the lessons learned as a small business owner and has always kept the same main street values.

The values of faith, family, and community guided Mike while growing a business and raising a family, and have inspired his call to serve fellow Hoosiers throughout the years. Mike began his public service as a member of the local School Board for ten years and then as a State Representative from 2014-2017.

Mike has been a conservative voice for Hoosiers since his historic victory in the 2018 US Senate election, having led over 35 bills into law and was recently named the most effective first-term Republican Senator. Mike has also consistently been ranked as one of the most conservative members of the United States Senate, earning endorsements from Americans for Prosperity and CPAC, and maintains excellent ratings from the NRA, Family Research Council, National Right to Life, and Susan B. Anthony List.

Mike is an avid outdoorsman and enthusiastic morel mushroom hunter every spring. Mike and Maureen have been married for 47 years and have four adult children and seven grandchildren.

A Letter From Maureen Braun

Dear Friend,

You may know my husband, Mike Braun, is running for Governor, but I want to tell you more. I have been married to him for 48 years, and I know he will make the best Governor Indiana has ever had! Let me share with you why.

His approach is entrepreneurial, and he has experience rolling up his sleeves and working tirelessly to transform a small company headquartered in Jasper, Indiana into a successful national organization. He sees opportunities that others miss. He handles difficult situations with calmness and persistence. He is a leader and works well with others, even when there are differing opinions. He is not only book smart; he is street smart.

His hands-on experience managing a company for over 40 years separates him from his opponents as he truly understands how to implement solutions that work. His experience as a

U.S. Senator enables him to understand all the national issues while also having personal connections with other Senators and Governors. His years serving in Indiana’s House for District 63 have given him firsthand experience with the legislature while also having personal connections with many current members. His years on the Greater Jasper Consolidated School Board have given him insight into how to truly make a difference in the education of our children at all levels. His knowledge gained from conversations with our grown children gives him perspective on today’s youth.

His Indiana roots run deep, and so does his passion for his home-state. Mike has visited all 92 counties for five years in a row as a US Senator, and he will complete that goal again this year. He is truly committed to listening to learn the priorities on Hoosiers’ minds: property taxes, high cost of living, health care, inflation, childcare, education, poor roads, rural broadband, small business and agriculture issues, safety, and the list goes on.

What I can promise you is that Mike will get results. He brings people together to brainstorm ideas so that everyone has the opportunity to work together. He is very creative in solving problems. He is very cost-conscious and gets the best value for a solution. He looks both short- term and long-term.

Mike is focused on what he can do for YOU and INDIANA! He knows he can make a difference and is willing to do the hard work to get the job done. Other states will look to Indiana as an example of freedom and opportunity, creativity and courage. Mike could be hunting, fishing, working in his native Indiana garden, or walking the woods, but instead he is committed to giving back to Indiana and sharing what he has learned. He has so much knowledge to give.

How can you help? Please forward this letter to everyone you know in Indiana. Family. Friends. Neighbors. Coworkers. Business connections. Add your personal note to the email. The fact that you have connected with us in some way will help others to spread the word. We need you! Early voting begins October 8. Election Day is November 5. Every vote counts. Every email or letter is appreciated. Donations are very much appreciated! www.mikebraunforindiana.com

This election will affect our country at all levels, especially how much our government will spend in the future, putting the burden on our children and grandchildren. That’s why the Governor’s race is so important: It truly impacts our daily lives. Mike, as Governor, will know how to save Indiana money while managing the budget wisely.

We need your vote because Governor races are always very close, so please get your family and friends to vote for Mike Braun for Governor!

Sincerely,

Maureen Braun, wife of Mike Braun
